The cookie-cutter kitchens are out. Today we are all looking to improve what we have without forking out fistfuls of cash. Making smart choices in remodeling that include a good design along with the use of the right materials will always save you money and help develop your style. It is important to develop your style in your new kitchen whether it will be clean line or old world style-make sure it compliments your home.

	Earth friendly materials that provide the right color and design for fresh healthy food preparation.
	Lots of drawers and floor to ceiling accessible storage.
	Freshness of filtered water. Single lever faucets.
	Tile, metal or glass backsplashes can add beauty and low maintenance to any kitchen.
	Good quality wood cabinetry will assist in providing you with lasting performance and aid to a more healthy environment.
	Stainless steel might never go out of style but will lose a bit of steam with the new colorful appliances now available.
	The right light fixture can provide the right task lighting, ambience, distinguish zones and accent your style.

Tech Savvy

	Desks are out and media centers are in! Install an outlet inside of a cabinet and stash all of your plug-ins behind closed cabinet doors and get them off the counter. What is really stashed in the cabinet above the fridge, anyway? Ditch the doors, finish the cabinet interior and you have the perfect spot for a television! (Elisabeth Hoffmann)
	Find a countertop sample, tile piece, photo or fabric to create your kitchen or bathroom around. You need a starting piece that you love in order to spark the design and feel of the room. Good design is current and on trend, but not trendy. Choose core materials, like porcelain tiles and cherry cabinetry that will stand the test of time, and use paint, wall coverings and textiles for color impact statements. 	Take inventory of the items you want to design a home for in your new kitchen or bathroom. This investment of time and consideration will result in a well planned project. A newly remodeled space always looks better clutter free. Adding accessories like baskets, deep, full extension drawers, bottle storage, and a cabinet to the countertop with a swing-up door will hide what you do not want to see and highlight what you do.
